BHP, Coles and West Coast Eagles board member Terry Bowen to shed roles after taking US-based e-commerce role

Prolific company director Terry Bowen will step down from the boards of Coles and BHP as he prepares to relocate and take up work with a US-based e-commerce outfit. Mr Bowen — who previously worked as managing partner at BGH Capital and an executive at Wesfarmers — is among the busiest non-executive directors in Australia who is based in WA. In addition to BHP and Coles, he sits on the boards of Transurban Group, Navitas and the West Coast Eagles. BHP announced on Thursday that Mr Bowen will join ROKT as president and chief operating officer. In a statement, BHP chair Ken MacKenzie thanked Mr Bowen for his contributions and “deep financial, risk management, capital allocation and supply chain management experience”. “We wish Terry success in his executive role and all the best for the future,” Mr MacKenzie said. “Our approach to board succession planning is continuous and we will continue to apply a structured approach to ensure the board is fit for purpose and will provide an update on the succession of the risk and audit committee chair in due course.”
