Hyundai may have discontinued its i20 N hot hatch in Europe, but it lives on in Australia – and it’s getting some updates to boot.

The updated pocket rocket will be available from November 2024, and features various cosmetic tweaks plus the South Korean brand’s suite of connected services.

Pricing is up by $510 to $35,500 before on-road costs.

Externally, there’s a revised grille and front bumper, new badging, and new-look 18-inch forged alloy wheels.

Inside, there’s new LED interior lighting, plus new badging on the steering wheel and shifter.

It gains Hyundai Bluelink connected services and over-the-air software update capability.

Bluelink features include automatic collision notification and SOS emergency call functions, as well as live traffic updates and a voice assistant that can be used for navigation and vehicle controls.

You can also use your smartphone to remotely control vehicle functions like the climate control, set up geo-fencing, speed and time alerts, and send a navigation location to the car.

Mechanically, the i20 N is unchanged, and Hyundai effectively says if it ain’t broke, it doesn’t need fixing.

“Sometimes a performance car’s recipe is so good that only small tweaks are required, and by boosting the i20 N’s technology and styling, Hyundai has elevated an outstanding and accessible performance package to another level,” said Hyundai Motor Company Australia CEO Ted Lee.
