It is Perth’s most exclusive mens-only club but on Friday some of the State’s most influential turned out to see Australian Hotels Association WA boss Bradley Woods and his now wife Emma Shaw tie the knot.

Some of Perth’s biggest names including former premier Mark McGowan, senior Cabinet ministers and politicians, and other celebrities were jovial as they arrived at The Weld Club.

Wedding guests had to ring a doorbell and wait to be allowed entry to the discreet venue.

Woods and his now wife Emma Shaw arrived together before the ceremony telling The West Australian they were excited about their big day.

Walking down Barrack Street, the event was one of the first times Mr McGowan and wife Sarah have been spotted out after he sensationally stood down as Premier in May.

The couple were in good spirits and happy to pose for a photo, even offering The West Australian a dessert they received from a cafe while walking to the secret club.

Mr McGowan had previously joked that as someone from Rockingham, he doubted the Weld Club would have him as a member, and even if he were invited to join, he would reject the offer.

WA politicians from both of the major parties were also among those invited to the high-profile wedding including Labor Ministers Reece Whitby and Bill Johnston, along with wife Kate Doust, WA Legislative Assembly speaker Michelle Roberts, and Liberal powerbroker Peter Collier.

Former federal Liberal MP Ben Morton and his wife Asta were also cheery as they arrived for the ceremony, while former Perth Casino supremo Barry Felstead was also in attendance.

The Weld Club is a private organisation, which has been at the Federation Queen Anne building on the corner of Barrack Street and the Esplanade since 1892.

The club is well known as where Perth’s wealthy and influential gather to network, and as the leading lobbyist for WA’s hotel industry, Mr Woods was able to book the club for his wedding.

Women cannot become members but can attend as guests of members and are only allowed in certain areas of the club.
