The Augusta-Margaret River Speedway crowned its champions at the annual trophy presentation and annual general meeting at Stay Margaret River on June 8.

A three-course dinner was served and the trophy presentations started with the ever-growing Junior Sedan divisions.

Local drivers Zac Favero and Thomas Host took the honours in their respective divisions.

In the Production Sedans, club vice-president Mark McDonald topped the points table. He beat president Alex Williams and Shaun Toye.

Street Stocks then took centre stage, being the biggest competing division for the club this season with a total of 19 drivers racing at least once throughout the year.

Daniel Stanley was on top of the points table — about 300 points clear of his nearest rival Stephen Rodley.

Josh Aspinall finished in third place, and Jake Williams and Matt Hammond rounded out the top five for 2023-24.

Ellie and Cody Watt received the best-presented Juniors Sedans award while Favero claimed the prize in the senior divisions.

Club chief steward Ben Hands nominated Millie Fairbrass and Brendon Vickers as his winners of the Chief Steward’s awards.

Favero was voted by his peers and fellow club members as the Drivers’ Driver for the 2023-24 season.

Volunteer awards were also handed out to Vickers, Host, Brad Hindmarsh, Aspinall and Danni Stevens for their hard work and dedication to the club this season.

Stanley also won the King of Speedway trophy for the second time in his career after receiving the club’s highest total points for the year, finishing 23 points clear of New Star Junior Driver Favero.

The AGM confirmed the previous committee members retained most of their positions within the executive for the next racing season.
