Volunteers are being asked to bring their gardening gear and green thumbs to a crucial planting day near Cowaramup at the weekend.

The planting day will involve the Friends of the Wadandi Track who are calling in help to protect and rejuvenate one of the region’s most important reserves.

Volunteers were asked to muster at the Cowaramup Men’s Shed on Sunset Drive at 9.30am on Sunday, October 27.

Coordinated by the Shire of Augusta-Margaret River, a spokesperson said native seedlings would be planted along degraded areas to improve the condition of vegetation and support the biodiversity and habitat of this important section.

The site would be accessed by foot from the men’s shed and adjoining community garden near Miamup Road.

Volunteers are asked to bring hats, sunscreen, water and sturdy equipment including wet weather gear and hand tools.
