GoFundMe launched for French visitor burnt during Mindful Earth Sanctuary bushfire in Karridale last month

A fundraising page has been launched to support the young French man injured in a horrific fire at Karridale’s Mindful Earth Sanctuary last month. The GoFundMe page was started by friends of the 20-year-old identified only as Romain, who suffered extensive burns and faces multiple surgeries on his road to recovery. He suffered burns to 90 per cent of his body and was airlifted to Perth after a tragic mix-up while helping with a paddock fire escaping control after a new generator caused sparks on Sunday, February 12. During frantic efforts to douse the fire with water, he seized a canister of ethanol-based hand sanitiser which exploded when he mistook it for water. Friends said Romain was now off life support, but still required a ventilator.
