Lucky escape after dramatic crash

Augusta Margaret River Times

The Shire of Augusta-Margaret River says there was nothing to report from an incident before Christmas when a worker veered off the highway towards the Karridale Tavern.

The Dash Cam Owners Australia Youtube channel hosted footage from the high-speed collision after a Shire vehicle lost control and smashed head-on into a parked Prado with a caravan attached.

The November 24 incident was investigated by police and no charges resulted.

No injuries were reported from the crash, despite a man and woman sitting in the Prado’s cab, which hosted the dash cam, while having coffee outside the tavern.

Shire chief executive Stephanie Addison-Brown said costs from the incident were covered by insurance and no legal action was pending. A WA Police spokeswoman said no charges were laid.
