The first run of tickets for the Strings Attached WA Guitar Festival went on sale this week with only a tease of the event’s upcoming attractions.

The annual Margaret River-based event, to be held on October 6-8, has featured a swag of six-string talent during past offerings, but organisers were tight-lipped about this year’s headliners.

Legendary Shadows guitarist Hank Marvin made the trek to Margaret River last year, the first iteration of the new festival after a year off for COVID-19.

Past top-billed acts included The Living End’s Chris Cheney, Grammy award-winning producer, engineer and performer Larry Mitchell, The Waifs’ Josh Cunningham and ARIA-winning performer Felicity Urquhart plus many more.

Art exhibitions, workshops, industry shindigs, fundraisers and popular Q&A events were all expected to make a welcome return.

Veteran local musician Dan White is taking a break from director duties this year, with Sara Warren co-ordinating this year’s show and promising another great line-up as a drawcard for people to the Margaret River region.

A full schedule line-up was due to be announced in coming weeks along with more ticket releases.
