Scott Morrison has missed out on a call from the Queen, despite New Zealand’s Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern receiving a personal call from Her Majesty last night.

Ms Ardern posted on social media that she got to speak directly to Queen Elizabeth via telephone last night after receiving a note to advise “the Queen wanted to catch up and see how everyone in New Zealand was getting on in the midst of COVID-19”.

But when asked about his own discussions with the Queen at a press confernece today, Mr Morrison said he had not yet received a call.

“I haven’t heard from the Queen,” he said.

“I’m happy to take that call.”

Mr Morrison said said it had been “a great privilege” to meet the Queen last year and while not hearing from her Majesty herself, he had spoken to Prince Charles.
