Two of the best lawn bowlers in the Goldfields have guided their teams to success in their respective club fours championships.

Reigning bowler of the year Steve Hill skippered his team to victory in Kalgoorlie Bowling Club’s fours event last weekend.

His teammates were Dave Malloch, Frosty Martin and Robbie Tane.

For Martin it was his second fours championship in two years.

At Boulder Bowling Club, the evergreen Jim Edwards showed converting to an arm to deliver his bowl had not slowed him down when his team won the fours grand final 15-10.

The other members of the team were Josh Beddow, Janet Perks and Justin Hooper.

Lawn bowls action continues this weekend at Kalgoorlie with the third round of pennants.

Both Kalgoorlie and Boulder have so far each won their home-ground games in what looks like being a closely fought season under the new format.

On Sunday, the scroungers competition resumes with a 9am start.
