Persello, Conroy a winning combination in annual mixed doubles
Megan Persello and Brody Conroy were crowned local eight ball’s 2024 mixed doubles champions last Saturday by defeating Selena and Keenan Cigler.
In a rematch of last year’s final that was taken out by the Ciglers, it was the combination of Persello and Conroy who rallied to claim a third victory in the tournament.
Rounding out the top-four were Paula Winfield and Marcus Henson and the husband-wife team of Dean and Janine Curry.
In domestic competition last week, top sides Grand Sharpshooters, Country Club Cobras and Grand Trolley Boys all secured division one victories.
In the second division, wins were banked by Grand Workers, Gala Warriors and Country Club Ballers.
Tournament action continues this Saturday with the first division closed singles.
Last year’s event, won by Shane Alan, is an important lead-up to the annual country week titles in Perth over the June long weekend.
Nominations on Saturday will be taken from 12.30pm for a 1pm start
