Bondi murderer: Joel Cauchi advertised male escort services just months before Bondi attack
The Bondi Junction mass murderer advertised as a male escort just months before his stabbing rampage through a busy Sydney shopping centre.
Joel Cauchi was advertising himself as an “athletic, good-looking 39-year-old guy”, offering dozens of “closed door” services, according to now-deleted posts uncovered by The Australian.
“Let me gently massage all of your body, and have me in any and every way,” the 40-year-old advertised on Escorts.Au.
The posts are the latest insight into Cauchi’s past to be uncovered in the aftermath of the Westfield shopping centre attack that killed six people and hospitalised a dozen others.
Authorities believe the violent attack was linked to Cauchi’s mental health issues, dismissing speculation about any religious or ideological motivation.
The Toowoomba-raised man reportedly suffered from schizophrenia and was off his medication.
He was fixated with knives, so much so his parents had to confiscate the implements, according to reports.
One neighbour described him as “disturbed”.
The West uncovered a Facebook post from December 6, 2020, in which Cauchi put to a callout to people interested in guns.
“Hi I am looking for groups of people who shoot guns, including handguns, to meet up with, chat with and get to know. Please send me a DM if you can help me out! I live in Brisbane by the way,” he wrote.
In recent weeks and months, Cauchi also made Facebook callouts for surfing and photography buddies.
