Police charge 19-year-old man after alleged suburban Melbourne shopping centre stabbing
Victoria Police have arrested and charged a 19-year-old man following an alleged stabbing at the popular Highpoint Shopping Centre in suburban Melbourne on Sunday.
The alleged stabbing in the city’s west took place about 2.30pm, police said, with two men involved in the altercation inside a restaurant.
A 19-year-old man suffered suspected stab wounds and paramedics took him to hospital for treatment.
The Deanside man remains in a serious condition.
Police officers arrested the alleged offender at an address on Caroline Springs Boulevard in Caroline Springs on Tuesday morning.
The 19-year-old man has been charged with intentionally cause injury, affray and weapons offences.
He will appear at Melbourne Magistrates Court on Tuesday evening.
