A shark warning has been issued for a popular water spot in Perth’s south after a large shark bumped a kayak multiple times.

It is believed a two-metre shark — of unknown species — bumped a kayak multiple times in Mangles Bay in Rockingham on Sunday afternoon.

The interaction was reported to the Department of Primary Industries and Regional Development at about 3.15pm.

DPRID is monitoring the situation but urged beachgoers to take additional caution in the Mangles Bay area, adhere to beach closures and stay informed on reported shark activity.

City of Rockingham rangers are also monitoring the situation.
