The South West Netball Football League season will start this weekend, with 10 sides vying for premiership glory in the league competition.

MLC Eagles, who won the grand final in their first season in the top grade last year, will start their premiership defence on Sunday at Roche Park Recreation Centre against 2024’s last-placed finishers Augusta-Margaret River.

The competition’s sole new entrant Harvey Bulls will head to Leschenault Recreation Centre on Saturday to take on local rivals and last year’s beaten grand finalists Harvey-Brunswick-Leschenault.

Saturday’s other league games will see Donnybrook Ravens come up against Eaton at Donnybrook Recreation Centre and South Bunbury take on Carey Park at the South West Sports Centre.

Bunbury and Busselton will start the season on a bye.

* Souwest Jets’ open side will play their only home game of the 2025 West Australian Netball Season on Sunday.

Recent changes to the competition mean the bulk of the club’s senior fixtures are now played midweek at Perth’s Gold Netball Centre, with their round four game against Peel Lightning at Eaton Recreation Centre their only home fixture for the season.

The Jets endured a difficult start to their campaign when they lost their first two games by a combined margin of 100 goals but will come into the clash with confidence after grabbing their first win of the season last Wednesday, defeating Rangers 46-40.

The open game will start at 2pm after the club’s under-21 side — which has a more regular presence in the South West — takes on the Lightning at 12.30pm.
