John Frylinck: Police and SES enter third night of desperate search for 70-year-old last seen in Mundaring

The search for an elderly man living with dementia is entering its third night after 200 SES personnel spent the day combing through bushland. John Frylinck, 70, was last seen at the Mundaring Sculpture Park, on Jacoby Street — about 33km east of Perth — at 8.15pm on Thursday night. Nine News reported Mr Frylinck went missing while walking with his wife and pet dog. Police urge anyone in the area to check sheds and gardens surrounding their property as emergency services ramp up their search efforts. Forensic officers were seen examining bushland as about 200 SES volunteers helped search for Mr Frylinck on Saturday — as temperatures reached 36C. “Members of the public are also advised that Mr Frylinck may not realise he is lost or ask for help,” a police spokesman said. “SES personnel including dogs, mounted officers, motorcycle officers, general duty officers, air-wing (drone) officers are being utilised.” Mr Frylinck was last seen wearing green boxer shorts with Christmas patterns, a multi-striped linen shirt and sandals. The shirt is described as navy, maroon and possibly white coloured. He is believed to have a slim build with a pot belly, and is about 180cm tall, with fair skin, blue eyes and white hair that is receding. Anyone who sees Mr Frylinck is urged to stay with him and call police immediately on 131 444.
