Perth Glory have added some firepower to their A-League Women’s squad by signing All-American super striker Gabby Hollar for the upcoming season.

The Ohio-born Hollar was an All-American High School representative in 2017 and 2018 before enjoying a successful collegiate career including taking home player of the Year honours in 2023 while at South Alabama.

More recently Hollar has been a sensation in the Victorian state league, leading the race for the Golden Boot with an incredible record of 18 goals in 19 games for the Boroondara-Carey Eagles.

The 24-year-old said it was a dream to begin her professional career and thanked the Glory for taking a chance on her.

“The opportunity to join Perth Glory is an absolute dream,” she said.

“I am so excited to start my professional career with such a great club and can’t wait to see the success the club has this season.

“I am so thankful to everyone who has helped me get to this point in my career and the club for taking a chance on me.

“The decision to move to Melbourne to play for Boroondara in the NPL and then hopefully get an opportunity in the A-League could not have worked out better.

“I cannot wait to get to Perth and get to work as this is just the beginning.

While Hollar is untested at the professional level, recently-appointed Glory coach Stephen Peters believes she can bring her talent over to the A-League.

“Gabby’s record this year speaks for itself,” he said.

“She’s a strong, powerful striker and a clinical finisher too, which makes her extremely difficult to defend against.

“I’m confident that she will complement the other attacking players we have in our squad, along with the ones that we’re bringing and that the club’s Members and fans will really enjoy watching her in action.”
