Making no secret of the fact he was celebrating the end of his Test cricket career, David Warner was spotted with some Australian hangover essentials after a big night of celebrations.

The batsman left his final Test match to an appreciative roar from the Sydney Cricket Ground on Friday after being dismissed for 57.

His last test match meant it was time to celebrate, with a 15-year career now behind him.

Warner was spotted on Sunday morning carrying a box of gluten free donuts and a bottle of alcohol.

He emerged from his Maroubra home alongside wife Candice Warner, flashing a thumbs up at photographers eager to capture his second day post cricket.

Dressed casually in a T-shirt and sports shorts, and no shoes, Warner was seen climbing into his car on his driveway of his Maroubra home.

The 37-year-old made sure to flash a peace sign before driving away.

The cricket star was sober for two-and-a-half years, giving up alcohol when wife Candice Warner fell pregnant with their first child Ivy Mae.

He remained sober until their second daughter Indi Rae was born.

Warner shocked cricket fans last week when he announced he would retire from Test and One Day international cricket, officially hanging up the baggy green.

“I’m definitely retiring from One Day Cricket as well that was something I had said through the World Cup and get through that and winning it in India I think that’s a massive achievement so I make that decision from those forms,” he said.

“It does allow me to go play some other leagues around the world and get the One Day team moving forward a little bit.

“I know there’s a Champions Trophy coming up and if I’m playing decent cricket still in two year’s time and they need someone I’m going to be available.”
