Socceroo McGree on target as Middlesbrough bounce back
Australian Socceroos star Riley McGree scored the opening goal as Middlesbrough returned to winning ways with a thumping 4-1 win over strugglers QPR in their English Championship clash.
Boro struck twice in the space of four minutes on Tuesday (Wednesday AEDT), starting when McGree sent them ahead in the 31st minute.
Tommy Conway doubled the advantage four minutes later with a low finish.
The hosts pulled one back through an Anfernee Djiksteel own goal, but Emmanuel Latte Lath and Dan Barlaser both struck late for Boro to wrap up victory.
Meanwhile, Harrison Burrows' stoppage-time strike snatched a late win for Sheffield United as they came from behind to beat Bristol City 2-1.
Anis Mehmeti fired the Robins ahead from the penalty spot, before Ryan One levelled for the Blades.
Bristol City were reduced to 10 men in the fifth minute of second-half stoppage-time when Rob Dickie was dismissed.
Burrows struck three minutes later to seal three points.
The result means the Blades jump into second on the table to sit one point behind leaders Sunderland.
Swansea sit two points away from the play-off spots after beating Watford 1-0, with a Myles Peart-Harris strike the difference.
Sheffield Wednesday bounced back from their weekend hammering with a 2-0 home win against Norwich.
Two first-half goals from Josh Windass and Dominic Iorfa were enough for the Owls to respond from Saturday's 6-2 thrashing by Watford.
The result sees them sit one point above Oxford, who earned a 1-0 win over Hull.
