A GoFundMe page has been set up for the “sunshine soul” twin sisters who were tragically killed in a car crash in WA’s Wheatbelt.

Last Sunday, seven-year-old twin sisters Riley and Macey died after the car they were passengers in crashed into a tree on the Great Eastern Highway in Carrabin — leaving their mother, Rachel van Oyen, as the sole survivor.

A GoFundMe page has been set up by the twins’ family in the hope of helping their 31-year-old mother rebuild a life without her “two precious girls”.

“Rachel, who supported and cared for her two girls their entire lives gave her all!”, the page read.

“As she starts coming to terms with this tragic loss, we want to ensure Rachel is looked after and can slowly start to navigate life without Macey and Riley.”

The twins, remembered by their closest family members as “sunshine souls” were described as “vibrant, cheeky, and beautiful young girls who had so much life and promise ahead of them”.

“Macey and Riley brought us so much love and joy, and as hard as it is without them, our lives were made better by their short existence,” the page wrote.

“The impact that those two little lives had on our family is immeasurable, and the weight of their absence is felt every single day.”

Riley and Macey’s grandmother Lisa Lorna Blair took to social media on Saturday to share the GoFundMe page, as well as thanking those who have supported the family during this tragic period.

“If you can support at this time, our entire family will be so very grateful. (And if you are not in a position to support financially, please share the link to help spread the word),” she wrote.

“Immense love, thanks and blessings to those who already have.

“We are not ready to say more just now, please just allow us all to grieve in private. Thank you for understanding.”
