Hard-working midfielder Bailey Norris’ impressive debut season for Kalgoorlie in the Goldfields Football League was completed on Friday night when he claimed the Jack Neil Medal.

Norris, who joined the Roos from Peel, secured the top award from teenager Isaac Billing, who grabbed both the club’s Trevor Stokes Memorial and GFL rookie of the year trophies.

Jack Martin’s solid debut campaign with the black-and-whites earned him the leading goal kicker and Buddha Usher Awards, and Brock Deinobili was judged the Rogers Rising Star.

Friday’s presentation included Rongs Clark being named best club person, Jude Meyers as roo of the year, and Graysen Anthony as the Boomers women’s fairest-and-best winner from Shaan McCrorie.

Chloe Butler was rookie of the year, Wiebke Piringer led the goal kicking, and Ariella Millowick secured the Buddha Usher Award.

In the colts, Rory Pumpa won the Roy Evans Perpetual trophy as fairest-and-best over Jayden Schmidt.

Other awards went to Zac Marston (Buddha Usher Award), Vincent Frigo (best first-year player) and Tish Clark (leading goal kicker).

Mitch Sheppard’s big season in the reserves earned him the Virgo Medal and the Shore Memorial Shield as the fairest-and-best player from Torne Tangata.

Alex Brind won the Buddha Usher Award and Glen Gascoyne led the goal kicking.

Last weekend’s function capped off a big season for the Roos, whose league squad made the grand final from fourth spot after Rick Butterfield took over as senior coach after just two matches.
