Olympic athletes let loose after lifting Australia to new heights in Paris as Raygun gets heroes send-off
She may have divided the internet but Australia’s athletes got behind cult hero Raygun as our Olympians celebrated our best ever games.
As Australia celebrated a record 18 gold medals in a fourth-placed finish to the 2024 Games everyone was keen to learn the moves of breaker Rachel Gunn.
The viral dancer was carried by other athletes and took the centre of a dance circle as Team Australia came together to celebrate the end of a marathon 16 days.
WA’s Matt Wearn and Kaylee McKeown carried the flag into the closing ceremony while Jess Fox was recognised after being voted onto the IOC Athletes Commission.
Retiring legend Emma McKeon also took centre stage as a representative of Oceania as part of the closing ceremony. SEE THE PICS
